REVERB GAMERS 2012, #13: Who's the best GM/storyteller/party leader you've ever had? What made him/her so great? (Courtesy of Atlas Games. Visit us at www.atlas-games.com)

I think every member of the Hex Games con crew could hold their own against any GM out there, but if I had to pick just one I'd vote for my QAGS co-author, Leighton Connor. I mean, I co-founded a game company with the guy, so obviously we have similar interest when it comes to gaming. There are a lot of reasons Leighton tops the list, but the main one is that he doesn't get attached to his plots and is very good at using player input, random connections, and even throwaway gags to improvise stories that fit together much better than anything someone could have planned out. Another side-effect of this is that no campaign Leighton runs ever gets boring, since he tends to treat the status quo as the enemy. Big changes to the characters, the world, and even the premise of the game can happen at any time, which keeps things fresh.
